Increase the number of milking cows & goats & improve on sheds & enclosure. Purchase of high breed milking cows essential so that the children can get their daily glass of fresh milk and for the use of the Institute and the balance to be sold and this will help us supplement our income.
An area has been reserved to grow fodder suitable for cattle to graze and a secure enclosure/fencing and facilities for milking of cows to be included.  A total of US $ 6350/- required for the dairy farm project.


This is a new project. We need to purchase chicks & a secure poultry run to be built. Eggs & chicken for use of the Institute & any excess to be sold. Estimated cost US $ 2100/-.

Increase number of pigs with purchase of better breed. Pork for use of the Institute and excess to be sold.  Improve facilities in the piggery, i.e. better sty & enclosure.  Estimated cost : US $ 8000/-.

Prepare land & cultivate required vegetables. Being a water-logged area a backhoe has to be rented and labour hired. Manure can be obtained from our own cattle. Estimated cost : US $ 5200 /-.

WORLD CHILDREN'S DAY 2011

As part of the celebrations for World Children's Day 2011, the Dept of Probation & Child Care of the Ministry of Social Services conducted competitions in singing, music, drama, handwriting, speech & sports...
Fresh Water Fish:  Dredging & clearing lake for breeding of fresh water fish for consumption and use of the Institute.  Estimated cost for purchase of young fish for breeding, dredging and clearing: US $ 8000/-

a.    Rubber Estate:  Estimated cost for repairs to factory which is dilapidated, replanting, upgrading of machinery and production of rubber sheets and manure:  US $ 5500/-.

b.    Coconut Estate:  Replanting, manure:  US $ 7400/-.

c.   Timber Trees:  Planting of timber trees on ground not suitable for agricultural purposes.  Purchase of 3,000 saplings estimated at US $ 2900/-.

d.   Votive Candles:  To improve production a candle making machine is required and cost of machine is US $ 3700/-.  The area/room used for processing needs to be renovated and cost is estimated at US $ 2700/- totalling to US $ 6400 /-.

e.    Technical Training:  We intend to take in more poor students for technical training.  For this we need to renovate an existing building and furnish with the necessary beds, tables, etc.  We need US $ 4600/- for this project.
